Fossen Home Technology added the final touches to the remodel of this historic San Clemente venue. Originally designed and built in 1930, the Landers name and its unique 360 degree bar design were preserved in the remodel, which meant the audio had to reach every patron without visually competing with the room.
The challenge
A round bar under a high timber ceiling throws sound in every direction. Conventional wall speakers would have left the center of the room loud and the perimeter thin, and would have fought the exposed beams that give the space its character.
What we installed
Sonance pendant speakers were hung from the ceiling structure in a ring that follows the bar, so every seat sits inside even coverage. Zoned amplification lets staff bring the patio and dining areas up or down independently, and the whole system is controlled from a single, simple interface behind the bar.
The result
Music feels like it is playing just for each table, and the architecture stays the star. The venue runs the system every day without a technician.
